Breamish Valley Community Nursery
The Breamish Valley Community Nursery shares Class 1 with Reception to form an EYFS class in both the mornings and afternoons.
We offer sessions five mornings a week, 9.00 am - 12.00 pm, and five afternoon sessions, 12.30 - 3.30pm. Wednesday afternoon is when our 2 year old session runs and our older nursery children are also welcome. The cost of non funded 2 year old places is £7.50. If there is sufficient demand we are happy to look at extending the sessions provided. Children can join our nursery as a rising 3 year old in the term that they turn 3.
All funded nursery children are also eligible to stay for school lunch which is from 12.00 to 12.30 each day at a cost of £2.20 per day (Early Years Pupil Premium pupils no charge), with morning only children being collected at 12.30pm.
The classroom is made up of the main room, the conservatory and an outdoor area covered by a conopy to allow outdoor play all year round. In the main room we have a book area where the children can quietly enjoy a story or have a rest on the cushions or in the tent. We also have role play, small world, writing and computer areas.
Our creative area is in the conservatory. There are areas where the children can paint, draw on whiteboards and blackboards, play with malleable materials, construct, play musical instruments and use a wide range of other creative resources. We can also have the sand and water trays inside.
The Nursery have a small, covered, outdoor area with ride-on toys, big bricks, sand and water trays, plant pots for gardening, amongst other resources. The children also have use of the larger playground and the school field, which now includes a forest school, willow maze, mud pit, seating and play area.
The children enjoy a rich variety of activities to support their learning, including learning languages such as Spanish, cooking, singing and moving to music. The Nursery are able to have a hot school lunch every day with the rest of the school.
