End of year dates!
The end of the year is fast approaching, so I just wanted to give you good notice for our end of year events!
Tuesday 3rd July - Musical Roots event at Alnwick Gardens, a letter has already been sent home about this event.
Monday 9th July - reports will go out to school parents
Tuesday 10th July - final after school singing club
Wednesday 11th July - final '2 year old' afternoon session of the year for children who are 2 or who have turned 3 between Sept 17 and now. Final after school tennis club with Grant.
Friday 13th July - Final dance and drama session of the school year. This will be Miss Thomson's last day at Branton too. Mrs Bone and I will be available to meet with nursery parents of children who will be in reception in September from 1pm, please let us know if you would like to book an appointment. If you are not able to attend a meeting, reports will be given out afterwards.
Monday 16th July at 2pm - End of year celebration assembly followed by refreshments. Parents will be able to take their children home at the end of the assembly, and staff will be around at the end of the day to meet with parents requesting a meeting following the school reports.
Tuesday 17th July 1-3pm - Sports afternoon followed by refreshments, fingers crossed for the weather! (with a reserve sports day on for the morning of Thursday 19th July from 10 am). Nursery children who are not usually in school on a Tuesday afternoon are very welcome to stay and join us for this event.
Wednesday 18th July - Older nursery children (reception in September) and reception to year 5 tennis and games afternoon with Grant and school staff. 1pm onwards Mrs Bone and I will be available to meet with parents of our younger nursery children (those who will be in nursery next year), please let us know if you would like to book an appointment. If you are not able to attend a meeting, reports will be posted out afterwards.
Friday 20th July school closes at 2pm for the summer break.
Our PTA are arranging 'playdates' on the school field over the summer break, so look out for information coming home about those!
Wednesday 5th September school reopens for the new school year. There will be some timetable changes, so as soon as these are put in place we will let you know.
I will send a paper copy of these events home this week and they will be added to our school calendar on our school website.
Please also excuse the fact that we now need to notify you of sports events and visits individually, and can no longer notify you of a group of events where we require consent. We are now required to request and hold consent for events individually due to the new GDPR.
And finally, we are awaiting arrival and installation of our new school 'pod' which will give us a little extra space. At the moment we are hoping installation may begin on Monday 9th July, this date could change, so we will keep you informed!
Thank you all for your continued support,
17th June 2018
