Heritage Music Bus

28th June 2013

On 15th June 2013 the Bailiff Gate Museum Heritage Bus travelled from Alnwick full of singers and musicians. They stopped off at six First Schools throughout the day. Their first stop was here at Branton. Avril Huntly had been visiting the school for a few weeks teaching the children traditional songs that they then performed for the passengers on the bus and for parents and the community.  There was a mixture of music and singing by both the visitors and the school children. The atmosphere in the school was relaxing and a good morning was had by all. Refreshments were provided by the school and of course there was a variety of cakes all baked by Mrs Lloyd-Harris.

This was a very successful project that was made possible when the Bailiff Gate Museum recieved a grant. The feed back from the project has been very encouraging and there is hope that another such project may be held next year.
